2013 seemed like a difficult year for a lot of people. It’s become very familiar now but once again we travelled to countless cities and countries again trying to bring our noise to anywhere that would have us. Most places we went, we met people who we felt connected to on some level of loss, grief and a feeling of increasing disconnect with the things around them. Life is getting confusing. Or maybe it hasn’t changed at all and we are all just getting older. Either way, we navigated all of this together with you. At home, on the road. And it’s become clearer than ever that music has the power to make us all feel better about the things that can pull us down. Even if it doesn’t make us feel better all of the time, it certainly helps us feel more connected to whatever is out there in the cosmos running the show. It’s a simple truth and one that must be spoken plainly. It has the power.
We’ll be back out all over planet Earth (no joke) in 2014, and then will begin writing a new album that tries to capture all of these sentiments in a way that we feel is accurate and honest. And powerful. If you bought a record, payed for a ticket, blasted these jams to kingdom come somewhere or showed us some love when we needed it most this year, we thank you eternally. See you on the other side.
